Forbes.com reports on a diverse group of people in Salt Lake City, UT lifting a car off of a motorcyclist after a collision.  The motorcyclist laid his vehicle down before colliding with the car.  The driver of the car was not seriously injured, and fortunately, the injuries to the motorcyclist do not include head trauma, despite the fact that he was not wearing a helmet.  After the collision, both vehicles burst into flame and came to rest, with the motorcyclist trapped underneath the car.  Several passersby, including a number of local college students, some construction workers, and at least one police officer stopped, and helped lift the car onto two wheels so that another person could drag the man out from underneath.

Have you been injured in a motorcycle accident?  You need an aggressive, dedicated Denver motorcycle accident attorney working for you.

Thanks in part to the work of the regular people who stopped to help, this collision did not result in fatal injury, but every year, over four thousand motorcyclists are killed in collisions in the United States.    Although this accident occurred in Utah, accidents very much like it happen all the time in and around Denver.  Motorcycles are an inherently risky mode of transportation, but one way that Denver motorcyclists can reduce the risks is to wear a helmet and riding leathers.  Not all helmets out there will give you the optimal protection you want if you are in a collision, so you need to be careful about what helmet you buy, making sure it is USDOT approved.  The Colorado State Patrol has some great information on motorcycle safety and facts.

When you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, it can be difficult to know what your rights are.  You need a dedicated, aggressive Denver motorcycle attorney who can evaluate your situation, explain your rights, and protect your legal interests.  There is a lot to think about when you have been injured, and Denver motorcycle accident attorney Wade Eldridge can help you decide whether your accident involved negligence and help you recover the compensation you deserve.  For more information, and a FREE CONSULTATION, contact Wade at (303)861-4222.

Motorcycles are a very powerful and exciting means of transportation. It is easy to see the attraction people have towards motorcycles. A very popular brand in the motorcycle world has always been Harley-Davidson; so it is very surprising when Harley-Davidson announced a recall on some of their products. According to ConsumerReports.org, Harley-Davidson has recalled over 250,000 bikes due to faulty rear breaks and break lights. The recalled bikes include certain Touring, CVO Touring, and Trike motorcycles from model years 2009 through 2012. The breaks and break fluid is affected by the amount of heat from the exhaust of the bikes and causes unpredictable breaking issues. Being unable to stop when you grasp the break or breaking without pressing the break can lead to very dangerous motorcycle accidents. Harley-Davidson is initiating the recall at the end of October and will provide free service to install a new break light kit on the bikes.

Q: While I was riding my motorcycle, I was hit by a car that ran a red light. I was almost able to avoid the accident, and I wasn’t hurt as badly as I might have been, but I’m worried that because I wasn’t wearing a helmet my insurance company might not pay my claim. Will that make a difference?

A: In the state of Colorado, motorcycle riders over the age of 18 are not required to wear a helmet. Finding a lawyer that understands and has experience dealing with motorcycle accidents and injuries is beneficial when dealing with insurance companies. If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident due to the negligence of another driver and have questions concerning insurance disputes, contact a professional Colorado motorcycle injury attorney today.

Q: I was in a motorcycle accident a few weeks ago, which resulted in a stay in the hospital for some broken bones, a concussion, and some internal injuries. My insurance company has told me how much they will pay, and it won’t even come close to covering my medical bills. What can I do?

A: An insurance company is acting in bad faith when it does not cover their responsibilities as previously determined in the insurance policy. Denying claims unreasonably, delaying payments, failing to investigate claims in a timely manner, or manipulating the facts of a claim can be considered as acting in bad faith. If you believe your insurance company is acting in bad faith, contact a dedicated Denver motorcycle insurance lawyer to resolve your insurance dispute and get you the compensation you need to fully recover.

Q: I need an attorney after a motorcycle accident, and I’m not sure how to go about picking one. There are a million lawyer ads on tv, in the phone book, and the internet. How do I know who’s right for me?

A: First, make sure you choose an attorney that is specialized in your specific type of accident or injury. Then check with your Colorado State Bar to see if the attorney has any complaints that have been registered against him or her. And before choosing an attorney, compare the fees and expenses ahead of time to avoid any misunderstandings. Choosing the right attorney can take some of the stress off of you and your family members. An experienced Colorado motorcycle accident attorney can help you sort through the confusion, take any legal action that is required and get the compensation you rightly deserve.

Have you or a loved one been injured in a motorcycle accident caused by the negligence of another driver?  Contact an experienced Denver motorcycle accident attorney immediately to protect your rights.

Motorcycle accidents can be incredibly dangerous, given the inherent lack of protection that a motorcyclist has compared to a passenger in a car or truck. In fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 4000 motorcyclists are killed in traffic accidents every year. Because motorcycles represent a relatively low percentage of total vehicle miles traveled (VMT) in the United States, the fatality rate based on VMT is higher for motorcyclists than for occupants of cars or trucks.

If you or a loved one have been injured in a motorcycle accident that was caused by the reckless or negligent driving of someone else, speak with an experienced Denver motorcycle accident attorney as soon as possible to discuss your options. Not only is Wade Eldridge an attorney who has dedicated his career to helping motorcyclists who have been injured, but he is a motorcylist himself, and thoroughly understands the risks and issues involved in riding. According to 9 News, a woman who is accused of driving drunk and causing a motorcycle crash that killed two people near Durango has been charged with vehicular homicide. According to the arrest affidavit, she admitted to having been drinking and smoking marijuana before driving. Her vehicle crossed the center line on US Highway 160, and she crashed head-on into a motorcycle, killing a couple in their 60’s from California. The woman is being held without bail awaiting trial.

Have you been seriously injured in a motorcycle crash? Speak with a dedicated Denver motorcycle crash lawyer immediately to discuss your options.

Motorcycle riders are inherently less protected on the road than passengers in cars and trucks, and are therefore more vulnerable to serious injury or even death in the event of a collision with a larger, heavier car or truck. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, several thousand motorcyclists are killed every year in traffic accidents. While motorcyclists account for less than one percent of all vehicle miles traveled in the country, they account for well over ten percent of traffic fatalities. It is extremely important while riding to be alert and aware of your surroundings, and ready to react to the unexpected. However, it may be even more important for drivers of cars and trucks to be alert to the presence of motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and anyone else on the road that is vulnerable.

If you have been seriously injured in a motorcycle crash, speak with an experienced, dedicated Denver motorcycle crash lawyer right away. Wade Eldridge is not only a Denver motorcycle crash lawyer with many years of experienced protecting the rights and interests of Denver’s motorcyclists, but being a rider himself he understands the attraction, as well as the dangers, of motorcycles. Wade can help ensure that you get the medical care that you need, and that an accident caused by the negligence of another driver doesn’t cause you financial hardship. Keeping Your 4th of July Celebration a Safe One

Independence Day is one of our nation’s most celebrated holidays and a popular time for family get-togethers or a night out with friends. But as the holiday quickly approaches, it is important to keep the safety of your family and friends in mind.

In one way or another, nearly everyone celebrates the 4th of July with fireworks. We either light some off ourselves, or head over and watch one of the many local municipal fireworks shows. But as a reminder, not all cities, counties, and states allow the possession of the same kinds of fire works. If you are not sure what bans, if any, for fireworks are enforced in your neighborhood, check with your local police department website. The Denver police department has issued this flier on what is and is not acceptable this 4th of July: http://www.denvergov.org/Portals/720/documents/News/FireworksFlyer2012.pdf

Fireworks and Injuries

According to a study conducted by the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPAC) in 2011, approximately 9,600 people were treated at emergency rooms for fireworks injuries. More than half of those injuries were burns, and nearly half of the injuries were injuries to the hands and fingers. The majority of injuries to other body parts were to the eyes, head, or face. The eyes were the only part of the body where lacerations, contusions and foreign bodies were more common injuries than burns. Most people treated at the emergency room were released without being admitted to the hospital.

Injuries to Children

Of course, there are things you can do to ensure the safety of your family. An analysis of the ages of fireworks injury victims shows that about 16% of all fireworks injuries are to children under the age of ten. The fact that sparklers cause more injuries than any other type of firework probably goes hand in hand with this statistic. Something to remember is that, even if you don’t give your children fireworks, children are curious, so you need to watch them around fireworks, and also watch the fireworks and matches or lighters to be sure that your children aren’t getting into them out of curiosity.

The CPSC related one other very disturbing trend for the 4th of July holiday. They report a spike in child pool drownings during the week surrounding the 4th with over 20 drownings, but also several thousand emergency room visits after near-drownings. As important as it is to monitor your children around fireworks, please don’t forget, if you have a pool, to be sure that a responsible, sober adult is monitoring the pool at all times. The fact is, it only takes a moment for a small child to have a terrible, tragic accident.

If You are Injured by the Reckless Use of Fireworks by Another Person, You May Have Legal Recourse.

If you are burned, a family member is injured, or your property is destroyed by the reckless use of fireworks by another person, you may have legal options. You should not be forced to pay for your damages due to someone else refusing to celebrate the 4th of July safely. The experienced, dedicated Denver child accident injury attorneys at the law office of Wade Eldridge wish you a very happy and joyful 4th of July holiday, and also remind you to please be conscious of your own safety, as well as the safety of any children with whom you are celebrating. If everyone is careful, there is no reason that we can’t all have a fun, safe, enjoyable holiday. In the unfortunate event that you have been injured through the negligence of someone else, contact Denver personal injury attorney Wade Eldridge at (303)861-4222 for more information and a FREE CONSULTATION.

The bike was seen by a patrol plane speeding northbound on I-25, but the rider failed to stop for troopers on the ground. Have you been injured in a motorcycle accident? Contact an experienced Denver motorcycle accident attorney today to discuss your options.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that over 4,000 motorcyclists are killed every year in traffic accidents. Given the lack of protection that motorcycles offer in comparison to passenger cars and trucks, it is not surprising that this number, when adjusted to account for total vehicle miles traveled makes it many times more likely that a motorcyclist will be involved in a fatal accident than an occupant of a car. With this in mind, it is extremely important, when riding, to practice defensive driving and be aware of your surroundings at all times. However, you can never control the actions of the other drivers with whom you share the road.

If you have been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, contact an experienced, dedicated Denver motorcycle accident lawyer immediately to discuss your options. Wade Eldridge is an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer who is also a dedicated rider himself, and has helped countless Coloradans to recover compensation after motorcycle accidents caused by another driver’s negligence. Given the lack of protection that a motorcycle affords, the injuries involved in a motorcycle accident can be extremely serious, often resulting in the need for ongoing medical care for years into the future.
