Twenty-five-year-old Abdul Alhilo was driving his motorcycle when a jeep pulled out in front of him at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Sadly, the Denver motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and ran into the jeep. According to Colorado News 9, Alhilo was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he died. The driver of the jeep escaped shortly after the incident occurred and according to Denver Police, is still unidentified. The jeep was found about a block and a half from the scene of the crime without the driver, but the passenger was still inside with minor injuries. Police are still looking for the driver of the Jeep.

Colorado State Police closed down two lanes of traffic on I-70 after a Wheat Ridge motorcycle accident caused serious injuries earlier this month. According to the Denver Post, two people were killed in separate motorcycle accidents west of Morrison Wednesday morning,.  In the first incident, the driver of a motorcycle lost control on I-70, and a rider was thrown off and died.  A few minutes later, another motorcyclist, approaching the crash site from the west drove into the back of another vehicle and was killed.  The Colorado State Patrol has not released the names of the people involved, as their families have not been notified.

According to CBS Denver, the Denver Police are looking for a driver who rear-ended a motorcycle, and then disappeared. The collision occurred late in the evening at 20^th Ave and Little Raven. According to 9 News, a woman who is accused of driving drunk and causing a motorcycle crash that killed two people near Durango has been charged with vehicular homicide. According to the arrest affidavit, she admitted to having been drinking and smoking marijuana before driving. Her vehicle crossed the center line on US Highway 160, and she crashed head-on into a motorcycle, killing a couple in their 60’s from California. The woman is being held without bail awaiting trial.

Independence Day is one of our nation’s most celebrated holidays and a popular time for family get-togethers or a night out with friends. But as the holiday quickly approaches, it is important to keep the safety of your family and friends in mind.

According to 9 News, a man trying to evade police on a stolen motorcycle was killed when he crashed into a dump truck in Pueblo. The bike was seen by a patrol plane speeding northbound on I-25, but the rider failed to stop for troopers on the ground. After crossing over into the southbound lanes, he exited the highway and led the troopers around city streets before crashing into a dump truck. The dump truck driver was not hurt; the motorcyclist died at the scene.
